ANGELS VIEW EARTH HOUSES

The Angels View Earth Houses are 10 boutique self-catering units designed to be an extension of the surrounding mountainous landscape while celebrating the dramatic east-facing views of the Mpumalanga (meaning place of the rising sun) escarpment.

Building materials have been sourced from the site where possible, with the units featuring thick rammed-earth walls, natural stone paved courtyards and indigenous planting on the curved roofs. Mono-vaulted ceilings are made from locally sourced, clay fired brick. The use of concrete and steel is minimised throughout the buildings and natural, earth materials are used where possible, lowering the carbon footprint of the development significantly. 

 

The interiors are sensitively decorated with vaTsonga murals and floor patterns adding to the authentic African experience.

 

Designed to be in harmony with nature, the Earth Houses offer a sense of tranquillity for the benefit of the guests’ well-being.
